3 Comic Cuts 58: R K Laxman Tribute - Part 1 (The Hindu Tamil Daily)

Dear ComiRades,

Welcome back to TCU. It Took a huge loss to make yours truly to blog after a long hiatus. The reason is also partly due to the fact that yours truly is now a days engaged in writing a lot of Articles, giving Interviews & and contributing to International Literary Magazines.

In fact last month itself, there was more than 30 articles of yours truly were published in various Tamil publications like Daily News papers, Monthly Magazines, Special Issues etc. And many more are waiting in the wings for the forthcoming months.

The Good news is that some of the creditable, eminent bloggers who have actually contributed (without factual errors) to the sustenance of the community itself are slowly coming back. Most probably this year (2015) will be almost similar to that of 2008 & 2009 when some of the most memorable blog posts with respect to Tamil comics were posted. To start the charade, the redoubtable Dr 7 has made a comeback & you can read his glowing tribute in Tamil in this link:

R.K.Laxman : Rasipuram Krishnaswami Laxman (24 October 1921 – 26 January 2015) was an Indian cartoonist, illustrator, and humorist. He is best known for his creation The Common Man and for his daily cartoon strip, "You Said It" in The Times of India, which started in 1951. Laxman started his career as a part-time cartoonist, working mostly for local newspapers and magazines. While a college student, he illustrated his elder brother R. K. Narayan's stories in The Hindu. His first full-time job was as a political cartoonist for the The Free Press Journal in Mumbai. Later, he joined The Times of India, and became famous for the Common Man character.
